OP A solidus is the forward slanting line that used to separate shillings from pence.
A virgule is the forward slanting line that separates the numbers in dates. 11/01/02
In computer keyboard symbols, there are duplications. There are forward slashes
called just slash, sometimes slants, hacks, wacks, and whacks. Then there are backslashes.
And the pipe is a vertical line that I remember with no pleasure having used long ago in DOS.
