That is an interesting etymology. In school used the simple but probably not quite accurate mnemonic for progesterone, "it promotes gestation." And for estrogen it was associated with estrous. But the frenzy angle sheds a whole new light on it. I would have thought chocolate could be traced back to some word for frenzy.

Reminds me of the joke about the guy who went to his doctor and complained that he had had only one erection his whole life.
