OP We had a beautiful weekend, I burned badly. And the locals said "winter's not over 'til the snow falls on the dogwoods." (Which turned out to be true.) I'm taking this as a kind of local "It ain't over til the fat lady sings". And I'm sure it's not said in South Carolina. If I was to write a book about this area I'd be sure to have someone say it though. I'm wondering if there is any well phrased local wisdom in other parts, that might not make it out of the area?
