Nancy, I communicate with people around the world (and which of us doesn't?). Some of those people are not great lovers of America. But all of them that I've communicated with over the past week feel the same way I do. Shock, horror, disgust and, ultimately, sheer sadness. Not everyone will have gone and put flowers at the gates of a US embassy or attended a church service of remembrance or signed a card of condolence. But everyone's feelings on this subject, with the exception of a very small minority in a very few places, are, I think, exactly the same.
