I often recommend the reading of "Ulysses" (Tennyson, NOT Joyce) on one's birthday, but- Lucky You @ 18 - I think you will appreciate it a bit more when you get a little older. (Then I remember that Tennyson was only mid-thirties (36?) when he wrote it. So go ahead and give it a shot now, but,remember, - different from wine, - "Ulysses" gets better as YOU age, IT is ageless.) When you get to be as old as Scribbler, or ---- or --- or ----------, etc. it is absolutely scriptual - canonical - required reading.
