I was about to contest this when it occurred to me that the American pronunciation of 'garage' is different from that of the UK. Your stress the second syllable and the second 'a' is an 'ɑː' (ah) sound, so the 'g' does, indeed come out as a 'ʒ', whereas we Brits stress the first syllable and make the second 'a' an 'eɪ' sound (as in 'day'), making the 'g' a 'dʒ' sound - indeed, it often sounds more like 'garridge'! frown
