I get the feeling after discussing this with a PC expert then addressing the issue in a forum such as this one that much like Bill Gates and crew, most software writers don't have the foggiest conception of a writer's needs. Following is the minutes from a Mac HQ daily meeting one morning when one of the participants pointed out not only that the Word macros are not transferrable to Mail but that the latter contains virtually no editing provisions whatever

He was at first met with stony silence from the others, most of whom couldn't even comprehend what he meant; until one of them began the round table:

"Why it's easy. All you have to do is Edit; Select All; Edit, Copy; click on the little yellow button, slide over to the Dock; click on Word [looks like a W with a couple of its tips at ten you ate it]; adjust the size of the window to soot; click on Paste; do any necessary editing; finally Edit, Select All, Copy; hold down Apple and tab, catching Mail on the fly [looks like a post itch stamp], if you can. But if you're returned to the wrong email, go to Window (up at the top), selecting the original massage, that is, if you can remember its file name; noting whether the one you picked was correct. then finally Edit; copy; then at last high light and delete any remnants of the origin Al.....Of course you will have to repeat the process if you should subseqaintly need more editing before sending"

"I know a even easier way. Hire my son, an IT in Air oh Space, who will spend a few hours [at only $50 an hour] writing a program that with only a half-doz

en keystrokes that shits your entire letter into Word, then after editing with a few more keystrokes returns you to Mail. There are a few glitches in the program but it cuss down editing time for a typical letter from two hours to only about 20 minutes. Of course it only works with Word and so if you have a different opera rating system it takes him a little longer longer"

"What's this eddy thing anyway"

"Its altercating something you've writ if you done it wrong. I never edit nothing, I don't need it. Nobody edits nohow, I don't know any buddy who edits, let's take a vote"

Out of 14 present only two of the board members voted for Word editing capability in Mail
