OP I was listenting to a CD of the BBC lectures that formed the basis for "Eats, Shoots and Leaves". The hyphen section included the statement that hyphens may be inserted where not grammatically required if they are needed to prevent possible confusion. That day our local paper quoted a statement by an "anti-child sexual exploitation group"
Do you think I should send the editor a copy of the CD?
