OP is there a word or term to describe a phonetically (or is that phonemically?) spelled word that reflects an accent? for example, a person from the deep south of the united states might see an army colonel and call him "kunnel". my question is what sort of word is "kunnel"?!? any help would be greatly appreciated...
cheers for now tim
