More modern Hindi songs? I suppose the resource I found only has the golden oldies. Pity for some, but great for me. I'm one of those reactionaries who believe that the quality of singing and songwriting in Hindi films went into a terminal decline sometime in the early '70s. With a few brave exceptions since, I'd rather not know. Some recent films themselves, however, have been excellent, and I'd recommend two I saw on my recent (a couple of months ago) trip to Bombay to anybody: Maqbool, a film noir version of Macbeth (sort of a "The Thane always rings twice") and Chameli, a sort of "Pretty Woman", but darker, and all set in one night. Can't say much about the music in either, though. (Regarding the music, though, there was a clever reference in Chameli to a song from an older film Amar Prem in which the female lead was also a prostitute.)
