OP This morning it was colder than usual. Trying think of medical words associated with exposure to cold, I remembered chillblain. I found that it had been discussed,
but not its etymology. In looking for that, I found a word
new to me:
kibe
PRONUNCIATION: kb
NOUN: A chapped or inflamed area on the skin, especially on the heel, resulting from exposure to cold; an ulcerated chillblain.
ETYMOLOGY: Middle English kybe.
