In another post about special bird fat storage, I was reminded of Indian "pemmican" made from dried meat and berries, used on long trips. Searching for "pemmican" brought me to a site about Indian nutrition.
I was also reminded of Governor Bradford (my ancestor) learning from Indians to sow corn when the leaves on the white oaks were the size of a mouse's ear. Those Indians were smarter by far than a lot of palefaces who still think the phase of the moon is to be considered.
