OP Big problem is that "indict" is pronounced the same as "indite". Howcome, I wonder
I still remember my mother correcting me for pronouncing the "c".
Another member of the family is "interdict" = prohibit. I learned that one in
Military Medicine, because I invented a definition which amused the colonel enough
he only docked me 5 points. "Interdictory fire" means fire from artillery or machine guns
which prevents the enemy from entering an area.
