I "wrote" my name with the mouse, just like I do with 4th of July sparklers. Speaking of which, we didn't let off the fireworks on New Year's--it rained all the live-long day, and into the night as well. Speaking of which (here I go again, Anna!) -- in phraseology like that, I say New Year's; whereas a Britspeaking friend just says New Year. What about the rest of you?

In continuing a great tradition I'd like to wish all the old Carpal Tunnels of the board a very Happy New Year.

The mnemonic is SOFT JACK and the 4 W's...

Stales, Of troy, Faldage, Tsuwm, Jackie, AnnaStrophic, Capital Kiwi, and Wordwind, Wwh, WhitmanO'neill, and Wow.

May the lot of you last another complete year.

Pass post edit: Man this is cool I go back in time and correct my mistakes. In the future annastrophic will say...

Thanks, man, misspellings aside.

No problem. I only wish I could use this trick and correct my real life mistakes of 2002?

There! C.a.p.i.t.a.l. No problem. What else?

You obviously missed Capital Kiwi's self-demotion.

Closet Carpal--I love it! Except in the case of CK, I think it should be Closet Karpal.
Welcome aBoard, sudhir. I think my friend sjm, and my friend shanks who doesn't seem to be around any more, will like the way you listed your home town.

sjm has no particular feelings on the matter one way or t'other, but the departed Sunshine Warrior, raised in that city, would have plenty to say about it. He was eloquent and passionate in insisting that he was a native son of Bombay, not Mumbai. See

Well, wow, since you asked ...I know from my years-ago numerological infatuation and studies that 5 is the number of sexuality...so it could, indeed, be a very happy new year, huh?

And here I was looking forward in a few years to being a sexy-genarian.

My father read a Bronte novel several times during his seventies so he could become an octo-Jane-Eyre-ian.

WOW! After two weeks absence from the board I am overwhelmed by all the new stuff there is to catch up on. It should take me an interesting week at least – what with work and all that stuff getting in the way.

Anyway, a belated Happy New Year to all those whose New Year has just started and my very best wishes for the future to everyone.
