Mentioned twice, but never defined:
Hippodrome
(Hip"po*drome) n. [L. hippodromos, Gr. "i`ppos horse + course, fr. to run: cf. F. hippodrome.]
A race track for horses.

I've heard of hippodrome and think it's an easy word to spell.

Now would a hippocomb be a place in which to put the remains of horses?

Since we're on the topic:

Coyotes are out here in our county killing calves. No joke.

I asked my dad what they looked like (the coyotes), and he said,

"They're red, or white, or black."

I said, "Coyotes aren't solid colored!"

He said, "Well, you asked, so I answered. Didn't have to be the truth."

Now, can you imagine being raised by such a person? No telling how many lies are filling my head! Received in trust and innocence!

I've never seen a coyote, but you should have no trouble finding pictures of them.
They are bigger than a fox, but far smaller than a wolf, or which they are cariacatures.
We lost a lamb and its mother to one. Animal control officer showed my wife den
outside which were several pet collars. The only good thing about coyotes is that they
keep down number of mice that are vectors of Lyme Disease.

They keep Acme in business.

They're a lot bigger than a fox. Not that much smaller than a wolf. higher in the shoulders than in the hips and with an attitude that just says, "Y'all hew mons have no reason for being here."

we have some beautiful ones here in our Vermont woods, though they've taken two of our cats over the last several years.
