Before Saturday night bath became customary, congregations had BO so bad the
priest was proceded by a thurifer swinging a thurible of incense.
Thurible was mentiond a couple times a year ago but not defined by Wordwind.
ME thoryble < L thuribulum < thus (gen. thuris), frankincense < Gr thyos, incense < thyein: see THYME6 CENSER
And the thurifer was the guy who swung the thurible.
