In re-reading Michael Grant's "The Ancient Mediterranean" he says Latin used the same word for "time" and "weather" but did not give the word. "Tempus" seems to fit both to some extent. Comments? Incidentally, in searching, I found a page of 'TakeOUrWordForIt' I'd not seen before that you might find worth looking at: http://www.takeourword.com/theory.html

Latin used the same word for "time" and "weather"
