In re-reading Michael Grant's "The Ancient Mediterranean" he says Latin used the same
word for "time" and "weather" but did not give the word. "Tempus" seems to fit both
to some extent. Comments?

Incidentally, in searching, I found a page of 'TakeOUrWordForIt' I'd not seen before that
you might find worth looking at:

Latin used the same word for "time" and "weather"

Merriam Webster, in the etymolgy for tempest gives:

Etymology: Middle English, from Old French tempeste, from (assumed) Vulgar Latin tempesta, alteration of Latin tempestas season, weather, storm, from tempus time

Sane source said:"...parkland or garden orchard (which is the meaning of 'Carmel'."
I found a site which says 'Carmel' means "Orchard of the Lord".

Another dandy word:" 'transhumance' the type of pastoralism in which the sheep are driven
up to lofty hillsides in the spring, to return to the plains in autumn."
