My friend wants to change the name of his business, wants the name to fit what he does more. He makes objects with a laser, cuts them out or engraves them. He likes pyroArt. But we've rejected that because of the negative connotation of pyro. I've reached the end of my cleverness without coming up with something to his satisfaction. Any good suggestions?

I like pyroArt. Cool.
OK, here's some obvious ones to get some less obvious ones going:
fireArt
blazeArt
flamedArt
sizzleArt
scorchArt
ArtScorcher
scorcherArt
ArtBlazer
Various combinations--why don't you check out a good thesaurus and just turn some words around if you're deteremined to use the twoFerOne construction.

well laser are Light amplification by stimuated emission of radiation-- or coherent light, or single frequence light..
RadioLightArt or RayLiteArt or LightRayArt or ArtRay if his laser is a ruby based one RubyArt or InfraRedArt or PureLightArt (actually i like the last one best... but none focus on the idea that the light burns in the image... and what kind of objects? [practical? i could use a nice little rack to hold my business cards.. i the PureLightArt works make something like that....)

Fire does go back to pyro but flame, doesnt'... and flamboyant is to suggest flames...
FlamboyArt?
or FlameArt or FlamedArtWorks!
or punning again on Flame/Fame FlamousArt (since i am sure he hopes to be one day, even if just in his own home town.)
and since keep going back mentally to the laser as a light image, LuxArt--

Does "art" have to be part of the name?
what about something like "FireLine" or "FireLine Art"?

How about playing with what the acronym, "laser," means? (Light Amplification [by] Stimulated Emission [of]Radiation) Maybe Light Emissions, or Stimulated Emissions, or Radiant Emissions? Or maybe A Light Cut?
