a) medal - pronounced - med-al or med-ul
b) metal - promounced - met-al or met-ul
c) mettle - pronounced - mett-ul (only subtly different to b)

Has anyone else noticed the unique aroma of money? There's a fresh smell to new currency, and a sharp metallic smell of a heaping handful of coins.
