I've been thinking that it's rather odd that Anu doesn't do any posting on this message board. He's set up this great place for us to discuss language, and he has not graced us with his knowledge on the subject. He surely has vast wisdom that he could share with us, but he seems to be silent, unless of course, he's using some arcane moniker and not telling us. . .

have you taken a gander at his list of interests? it's amazing that he found the time or energy just to add this feature. [thanks, anu!]

I have always assumed that, aside from being inordinately
busy, Anu has made a conscious decision to stay out and let the Board belong to the people who post. ( I canNOT adjust to calling a person a poster!)

Had Jackie actually done so, I would have considered her an imposter.

Well, isn't it obvious that I have no depth?

Planely,

I seem to be getting out of my depth here.

Sighing longingly,

Hopefully, still keeping your head above water,

he said impishly.

Funny you mention the word "imposter" I was only discussing it with a friend a couple of days ago (sad lives, you appreciate).

A friend was looking for a film called "The Impostors". She couldn't find it because she only searched on "imposters" and had never realised that there was an alternative spelling - is there a difference in usage or are the two interchangeable? Any views?
