People seem to like word games, puzzles and codes but say poetry and they run the other way. Don't run yet, some of these are a game.

Below you will eventually find the word oiligious in its proper context.

.................................

The frog in the shallow well
met a kindly crow
The crow said "If you want out
let me know".

"Isn't this all there is," said frog
The crow grabbed him and flew
In a mud puddle the frog was agog
"This is unbelievably huge".

With that they went to the lake
The frog was dizzy with infinity
"This is all I can take"
They then flew to the ocean

frog's brain became an explosion
...........................

Good times , End times
As events turn worse
It's too late to learn
If you're breathing the curse
It may be our turn
With sorrow to come
Still the Dark Ages
Were Golden for some
..................................................

The racism in Boston
spills easily and frequently
from the lips of the unwashed
well dressed suburbanites.
From the show room
of a car dealership illegally open
on Martin Luther King day
I watched the bill board workers

They intentionally pasted
the MLK tribute scrambled;
"the least of us whenever
wrong unto me whatever you all do"

.........................................

I once got some M+M's"
that had the million dollar prize
it was a lavender grey M+M
they made it too ugly to eat.
I ate it

when mother had a stroke
she asked for the operation.
my dad said no all the way
to the hospital ethics board
I hate him

when she died he said " bet you're sad
its not your dad thats dead".
I told him I was glad his beatings
and abuse of mom was over
he hates us

now he is dead and gone and I'm glad
disinherited I felt free
free of his slobbering shouting
but he forgot to sign the will, it now
goes to me

its not what he wanted or craved
he couldn't buy my trust or respect
he gave the house to my moms best friend
but he forgot to sign the will, so now
I'm not free

I ate the M+M and I was OK
without great wealth I was fine
but my dad with all that money
could not afford to be decent, but that
won't be me.

..........................................
THE PROPHET

All my prophesies
have been unheeded
in hindsight one sees
they all were needed
I write the words
I can not stop it
but when no one heard
there was no profit

........................................

the spice of life
----------------------------------------
Is variety the spice of life?
So many are multi-talented.
I have always dived head first
into regions unknown to me
and try to figure things out for myself
the reward is often a headache

Being an only child
may be the reason
I work things out by myself
but I think being immersed
in the diverse is one way
to rail against mortality.

doing one or two things well
for an entire lifetime
is the path to mastery
but I enjoy the eclectic
despite the limitations
of time to own expertise

just as some people
enjoy being one color
some prefer all the vibrations
of the universe.
have you spread your radiance
so thin as to be unseen?

the rainbow or the laser
the pillow or the razor
warm breath or gale
whisper or rail
a tear a lake
to dream
to wake

.....................................

Some scientists believe
blue eyes see a wider spectrum
from ultra violet to infrared
brown eyes see a narrow spectrum
but with more intensity
to every color they see
If you could choose
which would it be?

..........................................

......................

This old violin
of 200 years
was in pieces
and now plays like new
I wish that I could do that too

How many hands
spidered down
your strings
until they'd cramp
While you remained a genie's lamp

Did you ever
drown in the sea
of an orchestra
until no one
heard you sing skip and run

I wish that
all the things
you've heard
music that you bring
were stored like water in a spring

I would drink
and feel the wind
of generations
go around and round
And hear the lifetimes in your sound

Smell the earth
where your wood grew
Fire in your finish
Before you were new
Know the tension of curves and hue

Now you're silent
your master's gone
at the peak
of your marriage
Your new player is still in her carriage...

.........................................

Tolstoy Toy Story
--------------------------------
If there is a gun
you try to ignore
in act 2, it will
go off in act 4

We watched the Bond films
multi billionaires
took over the world
but there were errors

Somehow Bond lives on
The bomb countdown ends
007
Its life he defends

Have 'THEY' suceeded?
Bond in real life failed?
We all watched the films
I think we're all nailed

........................

WAR IN THE ABSTRACTS
----------------------------

American Civil War
It's about the Union
and later the slaves

WW II
Nationalism gone beserk
Another religious crusade

Korean War
Come out with your hands up
Go back with your hands up

Viet Nam
Ten Hut
Reverse...Charge

Balkan War
An imposed time out
on another religious crusade

Gulf War
To contain a dictator
Go back to Go we'll collect your $200

America's New War
Against terrorism for Freedom
Another oiligious crusade

COLLATERAL VERBAGE

It used to be shell shocked
Then it was mental breakdown
Now it is the post traumatic syndrome game

whites, red necks, Caucasions
blacks, colored, African Americans
ladies now feminists fiddle with hyphans in their name

It used to be 'we'
Then it was "every nation on Earth"
Now it is "all of you, be you christian, muslim or jew"

It used to be war
named after conquerors or numbered like WW II
Count the syllables in our war today, it won't be a few.

It used to be slain
then it was casualties
now it is collateral damage

It used to be A-Bomb
Now here's the exception
its a device, how nice, that we can manage.

Stay in line
and you'll be fine
Swallow the lies, it is the respondsible thing to do

I've swallowed my fill
Now the undigested lies
are like a rancid putrid stew

In simpler times
there were phrases that said it all
Now we need a verbal * that will replace ALL the PC'ness.

* your crusade, * your slogans, * you your highness.

Dear donuel: I read all the way to the bottom I won't say I'm sorry, but I can't say I'm glad.

Locate the poem below and find the hypercube

It was something so strange that I
Really will never explain , it simply
Happened as I watched , and can’t
Just expect all you guys to believe.
This globe of white light passed my
Way through the walls past my eyes

I was alone with my manx cat and could
Think of no explanation , except that
Of "n" dimensions never taught or be
It something all in one or appeal to my
Every thought of fun it simply was surreal.
Day or night I love to recall my surprise

I once read flatland and at its heart it
Touched upon one truth I was granted.
That what was clearly shown to me,
Globe, cloud or space when free, some
Of these are not alone because a second
Light sailed thru my home it was such a sight

Thanks guys, these are the kindest replies I have ever had here. That may not speak volumes but it is a clear indication that the welcome wagon has crashed and burned.
Is this a forum where 70% of the conversation is about establishing a pecking order?

I hope your back feels better carpel.

Dear tsuwm: I still regret my intemperate estimate of his visual art. I was tempted to think "oiliginous" was a bit of diatribe Muslim militants might applaud. But my literary critical capacity is measured in picofarads. so I abstain from voting.

My dear friend, oleaginous is a very good double entendre.

"Oleaginous" sounds like a euphemism for an unctuous emirate entrepreneur's complexion.

Incidentally, donuel, I'm only kidding. I don't want to be inhospitable to any purveyor of new posts.

Whew, I'm still stumped by pantomath. ] Actually I found the folks here sweet as gudunk.
'My Word', language is not my forte. I have yet to find an ecclectic artist forum. Replies are rare in many other forums. No one replied at all from the hedonist society forum.

I wish you all a respectful veterans day:

Remember the Maine
Main what?
Remember the Alamo?
I thought you had it
Remember the Revolution
Whose?
If we lived 700 years
instead of 70
There'd be fewer wars
but Veterans day
would be HUGE

are you Don Hakman
nothing wrong with occationaly posting a poem of your own, but this is not a "hey look at me" bulliten board for you to use to showcase your own poetry-- and hid the fact that you are not sharing information about a poet we might not know, but posting your poems, under 'donuel' nom de plume!

several of us have posted our own poetry here.. some of the stuff, is just above rot (search my posts) other stuff, A-one.. but we do it plainly, openly.. and don't use a single word in a poem, as an oportunity to post 5! and then pretend the single word was what the post was about!
