Odd, Max. Wonder what the "catch" is?

this too shall pass
looks like a vanity press, or a Famous Poets School...

(from the subject I thought we were going back into Spam® haiku)

Here's my idea. All of us here on the board should send at least 16 replies, whether they be drivel or gibberish or encrypted. Give 'em a taste of their own for a change. EXCEPT that would give them more e-mail addresses to spam.

I wouldn't consider that offensive. Poetry.com is a site that features amature poet's works. They have a different poem on featured their site each day and they often have contests, so I would say that it's completely legitimate and there's no catch.

<never been much cash in poetry

Actually, the site promotes a vanity press--see links at bottom of page

I couldn't find Occam, so I asked the person who channels for him. She's known as Occam's Raiser. She said that they print the poetry in large, inexpensive-to-produce books and sell them for exorbitant prices to the poets who "contributed" so they can see their work in print. Vanity press at its ultimate extension.

At least that's my educated guess.

I pour the acidic vinegar
deep into the salt salt soy sauce
and spice with cardamom.
The whole is set aside to mingle and
only later do I lovingly
place the slice of the dead
cow in the liquor.
One hour and I remove to
the cold of the box
The dark box
The box with the other dead
The plants
The animals
All dead until I eat
them.
Then they become alive again
Resurrected by my life forces.

Spot on, Ted!
I've been to the site before, and that IS about what it amounts to. Well done Faldage, I'm sure 'Marinade #5' would take pride of place next to some poor sap's poem about spring.

Your Rhymezone of the Ancient Marinader certainly deserves to scoop an appropriate prize, Faldage - it's wonderful!

In my extensive readings, it seems to me that tossed off means something...well, risque.*

I strongly suspect our Faldage was well aware of the message he was disseminating.

Hmmm. Well, it's still a toss-up, isn't it?

BTW Faldage, you sure you don't have any Vogon ancestry?

Sooo, any response yet Faldage. In this age I would have assumed step 2 (we need a bit of a downpayment) would have been sent off to you immediately.

Vogon ancestry?

Was it really that bad? That would be more than I could hope for.
