Let's here it for Eudora Welty who died this afternoon in Jackson, Mississippi at the age of 92. Winner of the Pulitzer prize and noted short-story writer and photographer she was (as is little known) the inspiration for the name of the well-used emailing programme. The original developer had read and loved her story "Why I live at the P.O." (a personal favourite of mine) and, when he was thinking of an appropriate name, chose hers. So now you know.
The spokeswoman at the hospital where she died is called Ginger Coke. I kid you not.

Rubrick, she was a wonderful writer, and inspirational as well. ========================================================= There has not been another day in all the history of this bulletin board that we have had three notices of mourning (I say mourning, as George Harrison is still considered terminal.)
I fervently hope this will be the last.
