In reply to:
And thanks to those who have already responded, your contributions will be up soon. I would still love to know where all those original masterpieces must be hiding
Errr, Max, are you implying that the contributions you have received so far are not original masterpieces?
And where exactly are they failing? I think it was George Bernard Shaw, who, on receiving unsolicited manuscripts, wrote back:
Dear ______
Your work is both good and original. Unfortunately the good parts are not original and the original parts are not good.

The Onion ( http://www.theonion.com) is a satirical newspaper that always has me spitting coffee all over my monitor, and Red Meat ( http://www.redmeat.com)is a truly bizarre comic strip that is as disturbing as it is hysterical. One of my favorites is at http://www.redmeat.com/redmeat/2000-07-25/index.html. Both sites can be a bit adult-oriented at times, so be forewarned. From a language perspective, The Onion has really fine examples of satire. Some of the best are when they report a very mundane event as if it were a breaking news story, like "Five Or Six Dudes Jump Out Of Nowhere And Just Start Whaling On This One Guy".

For an interesting view on stories in the IT world, I find The Register - http://www.theregister.co.uk/ amusing and sometimes thought provoking, if at times a bit juvenile. Rod

From TheOnion:
Elderly Couple Dresses Up For Trip To Denny's VERO BEACH, FL-- Wishing to look nice for their evening out, Vero Beach retirees Abe and Bernice Wanamaker dressed up Monday for dinner at a local Denny's. "I think I'm going to put on my light-blue slacks before we go," said Abe, taking off the shorts he'd been wearing all afternoon while sitting in the backyard. "And the brown Hush Puppies." Bernice chose to wear her good yellow dress, which she had not worn since a March 22 trip to Lums.
Don't laugh. It's true - we were in a Denny's a few days ago and this bunch of OAP types came in with collars and ties in 90deg heat.
The idiot also known as Capfka ...
