It would be no problem to have the local time displayed for each user, and if fact I understand this feature is available, just not enabled.

This feature is available, according the website of the sotfware company that makes this board's software.

Anu may simply not see it as a priority to tune the board software! We'd do it for him, wouldn't we, Max?

I'd offer, save for two minor details. One, Anu would not respond to my offer, and B, I wouldn't have foggiest idea how!

Neither have I - I don't know how it works. But, if the worst came to the worst we could swallow our pride and actually RTFM!

I still get the "new" icon above each individual post in a thread. Please accept my apologies for failing to express myself more clearly.

Oh dear, Max Q, I just didn't interpret it correctly. This is all so complicated !

I think I'll withdraw to my Arboreal Retreat and prepare myself in case you require a special Rite of Correction .

And, in preparation for the ritual, gathering berries, herbs and nuts on the way.

Oh wait; we already have the nuts.

A lotta snow has to melt before I can gather the necessary again. Meanwhile dried herbs and berries will have to do. Flowers are available year 'round thanks to a southerly window seat and potted plants. The golden hibiscus -- sunshine in a pot -- adds a nice touch to Anu's shrine.
As for the nuts, they seem to agree with him. Leastaways he hasn't barred any from the Board --- yet!

Have you been eating potpourri?

Dear Jazz: I got a surprise when I looked up potpourri, in particular from the etymology.

5Fr < pot, POT1 + pourri, pp. of pourrir, to rot, transl. of Sp olla podrida: see OLLA-PODRIDA6
1 orig., a stew
2 a mixture of dried flower petals with spices, kept in a jar for its fragrance
3 a medley, miscellany, or anthology

I am so used to its meaning fragrant flower petals and herbs for pleasant aroma, that I never thought of its being edible. But that etymology - pot of rot! Do not even mention such a thing to dear wow!
