Posts: 1 I am sorry to be a nit-picker -- but both yesterday's and today's words are not really from Greek Mythology. Yesterday's Gordian knot could be argued either way as "historical lore"-- so I will let that one alone. But today's word is from a comic play: a satire. It would be quite like someone using a word from The Simpson's or South Park, say 2000 year from now, and stating that it reflects something about our current spiritual beliefs or moral fiber! Aristophanes only meant it as a joke. It is good word and I always like to see a little Classical Greek being tossed about -- but I don't think it fits the theme (exactly).

Posts: 13,858 I doubt very much that in the year 4000 the Simpsons will be regarded as classic.

Posts: 13,858 Dear Faldage: thank you for awarding me limitless longevity. Your
flouting of the question suggests that you may doubt the longevity
of "The Simpsons" also.
