It is stated that "Zilch is an actual German surname of Slavic origin".

This is an example of an eponym. It is also rhyming slang - Mae West = Vest
Mae West [mā' wĕst'] – “a type of inflatable life jacket.” Named for buxom U.S. film star Mae West (1892-1980).
