I am sorry for your friend.
My comment results from one or two posters who say we all should
notify and stop making any comments about the spammer. Their
comments themselves are comments about the spammer. It seems
to irritate them, since the spammer is an irritation, and the
comments are irritations, where's the choice?

Well, if you try to notify the mods about a post, but somebody else has already informed them, then the software tells you and you can carry on with your forum browsing activities. No need to post that you've notified the mods, the forum software keeps track of all that for you.

I am sorry that I don't understand computers well enough to
comprehend totally what you said. Yet I have spent the last 20
minutes trying to find the thread where there are two comments
from people saying once a spammer has been notified to Anu
then there should be no more discussion of it. Not even
the word "notified", It "rattles" me, or some such comment
was made. So the discussion of the notification causes
consternation: that is what I was trying to say.
Let it rest, for me, I'll ignore, but won't post "notified",
since it upsets. Too many things upset people.

I just picked up the word "notified" from others, now it is
anathema as well. So be it.

I am having difficulty following you. I was just trying to tell you that you don't need to post a one word posting saying "notified". From what you say, I'm not even sure that you use the "Notify" link in the post editor, or if you simply send email to the mods. I was trying to make life a little easier for you, but you seem not to want it, so I shall go back to forum browsing instead of trying to engage in a dialogue with you.

I apologize.
And I thank you for trying to make life easier.
The only way I learn is from others helping out. When I
first asked how to notify of a spammer, I was told by someone
to use the "contact us" link at the top. That is what I've
done. And I've received messages back from Anu saying the
spammer was deleted along with the spam postings.
I don't know what the "notify"link in the post editor is, I am sorry and not trying to be difficult
or cut of dialog. I just get frustrated when I don't understand.
It is my fault, I know. Someone had posted that they were
very frustrated with continual discussion about the spammer
long after the spammer was deleted. It was that which I was
trying to find to quote and send to you, but I could not find
it. It was difficult enough, they said, with the spammer there
and they appreciated the notification of the spam to Anu, but
couldn't the rest of us just stop with that. I cannot, however,
find that thread nor the posting.
Please forgive me for 'cutting you off' in your attempts to
converse with me, it was not my intention to upset you.

I think that I was one that said a little post to indicate that Anu had been notified was a nice idea, but I'm reconsidering. let's just notify and leave it at that.

Luke, the "Notify" button is on the bottom right of every post, along with "Reply, Quote", etc. much quicker than using the contact link!
