Brahms' Deutches Requiem Ooh--is it as good as Mozart's Requiem?

Many would consider it so. It's extremely lyrical, not a standard Requiem Mass at all, being set instead to German texts that Brahms found moving, but is often sung in English translation. He had most of it sketched out and then finally completed it after the death of his mother. You can hear most if not all of the sections on YouTube.

Why not sit down with a glass of CLARET some time and listen to it?

(PS. I see CLARET was a repetition. My bad. I must have meant CARTEL. Yeah, that's right, I meant CARTEL.)

Thanks so much for the YouTube site: I am thoroughly enjoying the Requiem again, for the third time.
