The word "odious" so strongly and inescapably engenders for me the memory of one famous speech that I was taken by its absence when I read your usage example (not criticizing here, just relating my word association):

"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all." – Mario Savio, Sproul Hall Steps, December 2, 1964

One can feel the passion of the speaker. Thank you.

I'm thinking...words containing 3 different vowels.

That was my guess too. Good to see a whole lot of first timers around here. Welcome one and all.

I dearly hope that what's done in this game will not become fashionable. RKDN - all that's left of the handsome word arcadian. frown
BTW, I noticed that for the selected words Anu only used half of the 26 letters of the alphabet. Would it mean there are letters that are less or not fit to be used in this trick? He did not use: b-f-h-j-k-l-m-p-q-t-w-x-z

Gotta be your second one, Branny. (I couldn't get it, either; it's not a word I really use.) However, epic hashish could lead to quite a tale!

Well, how would this look? " A thing of BUT is a joy forever".
No show.
