Celebrate by fighting against bad grammar advice. Split infinitives! Dangle participles! And, above all, use sentence modifying hopefully!

Language Log has link to a series about this National Grammar Day. I don't understand all the references, but it seems quite funny,

Looking it up on Wikipedia, hopefully he means to specifically refer to Canadian Armed Forces Day.

We're taking up arms against anyone who promulgates spurious grammar rules. Two rules in particular come to mind: the rule against splitting infinitives and the rule about when to use less and when to usefewer were both dreamed up by late 18th century guys who just thought their own opinions were more elegant than the normal usage. I suspect the same of the which/that rule but I couldn't defend that one right now.
