I see both of these links are to "Googlebooks" ( a.k.a books.google.com, a recently-launched effort to get the entire world literature, if not digitally available, then at least indexed and located. All kinds of copyright issues in the process of resolution, with a widespread awareness campaign inaugurated today. (See your local Parade Magazine today, and elsewhere.)

I would call to our collective attention the other tab on the page, called "About this book," which has all sorts of intriguing tidbits about who, what, where, maps, references to, bookstores selling, libraries loaning, etc. Just the sort of interesting trivia Our Kind find interesting.

I appreciate it, tho' I do not know how you knew that. In each years' results is a
dictionary reference the answer?

quaintly put.. but yes, each round comprises a definition culled by the hogmaster® from some (hopefully) reliable resource plus the various daffynitions submitted by those that wish to play. you should read the hogwash® rules, which are pinned to the top of the Wordplay and fun forum. (that'd be this very forum)

in the real world this game is known variously under names such as the 'dictionary game' and Balderdash®.. link and link

"Quaintly put", I like that. Read the rules, again, did not make lots of sense until I
participated. Now they make much more. Appreciate your answer.

Thank you BranShea.
That was a good round and well hogged.
Great fakes too.

Do I get any points for having the most talked about submission ?

Yes and why? On waiting for the votes to come in I thought about which one I would have chosen if I had not known the real one. It would have been yours for the worthless noneword that it is. Bland. I'm sure that Jackie will agree to the borrow of her missed vote for your 1.point.

Yes, thank you for your work. I look forward to next year, and perhaps I will be able to
play it better with one year under my belt.

Any pun that I don't realize is a pun is a good pun, as far as I'm concerned. Unless, of course, somebody points out to me that it was (intended as) a pun.
