I'm searching for a word for a person who collects wooden pencils as a hobby.

English pencil is from Vulgar Latin pēnicellus from Latin pēnicillus double diminutive of pēnis 'tail; brush'. It seems the Romans had things bass awkward.

The Romans used a stylus (also stilus) for writing on wax tablets. Stylologist has a nice ring, but it would probably have to include penophiles.

I am a pencil collector who would like to correspond with pencil collectors. My favorite pencil would be the Ticonderoga and all the variations.

the Ticonderoga is a very good pencil for a consumer model, though I've had problems with loose erasers. (heh) I prefer the Dixon Oriole.

I did have a student leave behind a couple of Mirado Black Warriors, and damn, that's a nice pencil.

Do you also write or draw with those pencils? Or is it just keeping them in boxes?
