Help. I can't figure out how to send a PM these days. I can reply to one but not send to someone who hasn't PM'd me first.
Insultingly simple instructions preferred.

In case anyone else has difficulties:
Go up top and click on My Stuff. Click on My Messages. Click on Options.
You will either have to type or copy in the person's name in what in my opinion (and I'm always right, you know) should be called the address box but which is labeled Add Recipient . I think, to get somebody on your Buddy List, you go to their profile* and click on Add to UBB Buddies . I honestly don't know whether they have to agree, or not; but I don't think so.
*It can take a long time to find someone's name to click on if they haven't posted in a long time, now that we no longer have the list of members we used to be able to access.
EDIT--you can also go to the person's profile and simply click on Send a Private Message .

Or either click on the person's handle and select Send a PM from the pulldown menu.

Or either click on the person's handle and select Send a PM from the pulldown menu. That's what I do when sending a daffynition to the hogmaster, for example.

AHA, I knew it was possible. Thanks all. (I've called for help so often that the computer support people at work can now recognise my voice.)

Don't worry Zed--as a computer support person, I LIKE the users that will ask questions. For one, it means things are being used, which is always a good thing, and second, it means that I know who is going to be a good test subject. The people who never have problems are terrible testers, for a number of reasons, while those who DO have problems often help create the best products.

Excellent!! Now I'll think of myself as a consumer advocate instead of hopelessly stuck.
