While we're missing dads, mine would sometimes say he didn't know somebody from a load of hay.

My dad's favorite was:

Of course he also said, "Don't convert the squares. We won't have anybody to laugh at!"

I'm very lucky because my Dad is still with us.

He's not one for pithy sayings, but any time he says he loves me is saying enough for me. Ooo, that and "how about a little wine with supper" HA!

My Dad loved anything of quality,from architecture to winter storms and music from Blondie (in his 70's) to opera - but it had to be done well. Our childhood recitals and dance shows were torture for the poor man but he came.
