Aroha mai to you! My former daughter-in-law (Janine Bott) is an indigenous artist in Australia, and she piques my interest to visit that part of the world.

Some people may not be acquainted with the language of my polynesian ancestors. Hawaiian Aloha is the same as aroa, or love in Cook island maori. Our Ancestors shared a common origin as well as a similar respect & aroa for each other. Our languages and to a certain extent our way of thought, food, music, and allsorts share aroha.

Did you know etaoin, that the Ukulele is made up of two words the first being Uku(fleas or nits) the second lele (fly, as in spread your wings and..) The sound a good Ukulele player made was likened to fleas jumping around on the strings.

I didn't know that! but I did learn to tune one by singing "my dog has fleas", GCEA. and I saw a video not that long ago of some absolutely amazing uke playing. I'll see if I can dig up a link. here it is! While My Guitar Gently Weepsenjoy!
