So apparently safe-provided means safe-deposit-box? Can anyone find me official references/definitions on that? Oxford? I can't find anything on google...

some hotels in NYC have small personal safes. built into a closet. they safes have digitial combo's, you set the combo, and store you money/jewelry/etc during your stay.
(other hotels have a single safe in the management office. you place your stuff in envelop/ box and that is stored in hotel safe.)
out of context, (or rather with the little context you provided) i would guess safe provided means the first example.

I've been in cities and neighborhoods where such language served as a warning (ie You will be safe, provided you don't go out, stay away from the windows, etc.) In any event, safety is always provisional, I guess.

I stayed a Motel 6 in New Orleans with stand-alone safes in the rooms - not hidden at all - right next to the minibar/frig. I think they are for people who (think they will) win money at the casinos and end up with quantities of cash in their rooms.

Gosh when I was a lot younger we had to bring our own safes. Now they provide them! What's the world coming to, so to speak?
