While the 1960s "Batman" TV series might be the champion of onomatopoetic words, the following are new words derived from popular movies, TV shows, etc. All these words are in fairly common usage among my friends. Unlike most other onomatopoetic words, these are all used as verbs.

whang or wang
(v) To break a part of an object off of the main part by striking it with a single blow.
(From the sound made when the main antenna was "whanged" off the top of the Millennium Falcon in Return of the Jedi)

cack
(v) to kill/dispatch with a single blow, specifically with a bladed weapon
(from the sound made when soldiers were "cacked off" in Braveheart)

shplock
(v) To splatter an object with any soft, gelatinous or slimy substance.
(from the sound of a pie smashed in any of the Three Stooges' faces)

schlingg
(v) To draw a bladed weapon from a scabbard in haste or with dramatic flair.

Wonderful! One of my favourites is "splodge", derived from the sound of something sloppy being spooned onto a plate, such as a dollop of mashed potatos.
