defenestrate - what an amazing word!

it means 'to throw out of a window', referring particularly to a person.

it comes from the Latin for window, fenestra.

it's so cool!

the Defenestration of Prague refers to more than one person; but have you seen the word adfenestrate?

That brings to mind this thread from the wayback machine

Of course, it also has threads going all cattawampus if you try to click on the next page, a demonstration of why we tried to keep posts to 100 or less per thread back on the old board.

AttualŪ, it's a reference to a local string-bandy bar band name of Donna the Buffalo

Connie, your link won't work for me*, and when I Searched for defenestrate, all it gave me was this thread--how'd you find the old one, please?
*I got the error-message frame for the old board.

I once thought this sort of thing was browser dependent; but I've had search results work in Firefox and not in IE, and vice versa. Connie's here works for me in Firefox.

try it with the extraneous bits lopped off.

I still just get:
System Error: DBD::mysql::st execute failed: Unknown column 'U_Post_Format' in 'field list' at w3t.pm line 600.

Ooh! I must have had the dates set screwy the first time; I just tried Search again and got the '01 thread. Here's the URL on the page I got:
'01 thread

This link works for me! Yay!
