Just read 'lipse' for 'lisp.' It takes a nimble tongue to go back and forth between the two forms.

Is that something you just did, as in <RED>, or something you are inviting us to do, as in <REED>? Anyway, I gave it a try myself and I'm still tied up.

Do you suppose there is any connection between "lipse" and "ellipsis", I mean, apart from the fact that they are both embarrassing slips?

You must be reading Chaucer again, Wordwind.

No, I didn't read it incorrectly. I read it as it was, and then looked it up. It was interesting to learn that 'lipse' is another form for 'lisp.' Cool. Then I tried saying each, back and forth, and realized it's a great tongue-twisper, and not necessarily a twhispered twisper.
