Thanks y'all. It seemed to be getting bogged down, but it was still not a bad little effort, 15 steps from Winter to Handel, each one acronymified. I'm still waiting for someone to tackle Chaucerian, btw.

It could easily have gone to handed, or (stretching) Hansel.
Usually in this kind of puzzle, you're to end up with an opposite, or at least related, word. Such as winter --> summer. Bit too difficult in this venue, though.
