They give you a word and four choices for the meaning. If you get it right, you get a harder word. For each word you get right, they donate 20 grains of rice through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger. Yesterday 195,609,880 grains of rice were donated. FreeRice.com has donated over 31 billion grains of rice since they began the program. It's a win-win-win-win thing. Check it out! They have changed another thing since november. When I make a mistake, after two new sets of words it puts in the mistaken word again. It helps. So there is a repetition factor added.
