OP Can someone tell me the famous English novel (or one of them) in which a woman 'wrongs' a man by marrying him and then quickly decides he isn't really her true love before moving on to a new man on a whim. I'm thinking perhaps it's Thomas Hardy, but I can't think of the book of hand. Ta.
OP Btw, I'm thinking the female character's caprice causes the man to subsequently become sinister and bitter after which something ensues to cause her to regret her acitons towards him. I realise, this is probably sounding like many romantic novels.
