As the dictionary definition says, it is bafflying that the name means "like a wolf". They are quite attractive. I remember long stretches of highway in Canada where every home
had purple lupines vlossoming in front yard. For the non-farmers in our midst, "green manure refers to replenishing nitrogen nutrients in soil by raising legu;mes, in whose roots bungi fix nitrogen that can become fertilizer when the crop is deliberately plowed under.
