Just for the rippin' hell of it, I looked this up in Anglo American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd ed. (I have to consult that indispensible volume frequently, because I am a cataloger in A Major Research Library) and it referred to those things as being in the category of "certain other terms following names". Somehow, I don't think that expression is going to gain much currency.

But isn't it terrifying to know there is an entire big fat book delineating the rules for cataloging books? And that there is an even fatter one called LCRI (Library of Congress Rule Interpretations) that explains them in a way that makes them even more confusing?
