consilient: having common inferences drawn from different premises

Here is a URL to a comically vicious attack on E. O. Wilson's "Consilience"
The asshole who wrote it should be fluched down the tube.

conspurcation: defilement
consuetude: custom; familiarity
contemn: to despise or scorn
contignation: joining together of timber
contrahent: a contracting party
contraterrene: opposite in character to earthly or terrestrial

contubernal: living together in the same tent; cohabiting In WWII, every dogface in his full field pack
carried one half of a pup tent. It was a trapezoid of light weight canvas, with grommets , and one pole
for each hallf, plus some pegs. Contubernal cozy cohabitation was not my cup of tea, and I never actually
had to try it. The places where we bivouaced were never flat enough. I used to gather dry leaves to stuff
the mattress cover, and use the shelterhalf for ground cloth. I was lucky it never rained.

conventicle: secret or illegal church assembly
coprolith: ball of hardened feces
copyhold: land tenure dependent on will of the lord of the manor

coram: in the presence of; before I question this definition. I remember "mox coram" from a
Latin letter meaning "I will be with you in person soon". Savage that, Faldage.

cordage: ropes in the rigging of a ship
coriaceous: having a leathery appearance; consisting, of or pertaining to leather
cornific: producing or forming horns
coronagraph: instrument for viewing the corona of the sun
corrigendum: something which requires correction
coruscate: to sparkle; to throw off flashes of light
coscinomancy: divination using a sieve and a pair of shears
cosmogenic: produced by interaction of cosmic rays with earth's surface
cosmotheism: the belief that identifies God with the cosmos
cotehardie: medieval long close-fitting garment with tight sleeves
cottar: medieval peasant inhabiting a cottage
coulometer: instrument measuring amount of substance released in electrolysis
counterphobic: seeking out situation that is feared
couveuse: incubator for babies

In reply to:

consuetude: custom; familiarity

And what does our own Consuelo have to do with this consuetude?
