We can dig. Because we can and do dig, would our species be considered to be fodient?
I'd say no, WW...because, I think, we dig merely as a matter of convenience, to bury our dead, to forage for roots we found to be tasty, to acquire that shiny yellow metal we could fashion into trinkets...whereas, the other species dig as a matter of ongoing survival, instinctually, for burrowing and/or their main fare. Can you dig it?
