OK, this may sound stupid, but I can't seem to get the hang of using these four words:
- Practice / Practise
- Advice / Advise

Everytime I use them, I have to check the dictionary if I'm using ce/se correctly (except this time). And after reading the explantions a thousand times over, I'm still pretty much back to square one. So can anyone help with an easy way to remember when to use ce or se?

I think the same noun/verb split applies to practice/practise if you live in a country that recognizes the difference. So you go to a hockey practice to practise your wrist shot. Or something to that effect. There is also a license/licence split which we have previously discussed and must be similar.

also a license/licence split

dat's right: You get your licence from a licensing bureau. If you're licensed to serve alcohol, you must display your licence on the wall of your establishment.

James Bond is licensed to kill but he had his licence revoked in Die Another Day. (He got it back, but.)

If someone advises you well, you would do well to follow his advice.

Musick,

You're silly!

Nah - just an anarchist

My way of remembering which is which (advice/advise; pratise/practice) is = verb, ice = noun.

But Dub-dub's way works without you needing a mnemonic to remind you what the mnemonic is.

Welcome RainingJane. Is that to be understood as ReigningJane?
English is all so confusing.
You'd be well advised to take my advice : This is a Mad Bunch. Stick around and have some fun!

Nope, she's a pilot. The RainingJane stays mainly on the plane.
