Hippocrepiform Sounds like a hippopotamus creeping toward something trying to take it by surprise. This is actually a very useful word, and I don't think tsuwm should use it in his lexicon. I mean, how many times have you spotted a horseshoe-shaped object and had an overwhelming desire for a perfect adjective to describe that shape!? Now we've got the word! Hippocrepiform. Got it! Would also make a terrific object to find on a scavenger hunt: 1. Any hippocrepiform object. "horseshoe-shaped" = (not) hippocrepiform Hippocrepiform has one few letters, not counting the hyphen. Hippocrepiform, therefore, is a more economical adjective. However, 'horseshoe-shaped' has two fewer syllables, so it depends upon what you're counting and how you define your economic needs.
