A spelling bee word we have all seen, but should remember. It was a terrible scourge when
my father was in medical school. I have seen old cemeteries with several tiny headstones
where a family lost as many as three children in the same week, most likely to diphtheria.
Yet few of today's doctors have ever seen a case, and probably would not recognize it in time
for life saving antitoxin to be given. Many parents out of ignorance or misinformation are failing
to have children fully immunized. And us old geezers have lost almost certainly lost our immunity.

This may not be the place for such a rant, but DO NOT let any children in your family miss
being immunized against diphtheria and ALL the other childhood diseases.
